Lilac Cottage

Aldbrough - Pet Friendly

This charming terraced cottage offers a wonderful blend of character and warmth, set in a tranquil coastal village in East Yorkshire. Aldbrough is nestled in the Vale of Holderness, located 12 miles north of Hull, just a short drive from the historic town of Beverley, and 7 miles south of Hornsea. The village provides a selection of local shops, a popular fish and chip shop, two pubs serving traditional home-cooked meals, a sports hall, and a nearby petrol station. Please note, the village has a limited bus service.
The cottage is conveniently located just a short walk from all local amenities. To the east of the village stands St. Bartholomew's Church, primarily built in the Norman style, with remnants of Saxon architecture around the windows and doors. Inside, you'll find the tomb of Sir John de Melsa, a 6'6" warrior of great renown who served as Governor of York from 1292 to 1296.

Surrounded by open fields, the village offers plenty of scenic walks, and the cottage is about a mile from the sea. From spring to autumn, the area is popular with caravan owners, and the caravan park's social club hosts various entertainment events throughout the season.

The cottage is cosy, comfortable, and well-equipped, with space for up to four adults. A travel cot and high chair are available for an additional young child. By arrangement, one small, well-behaved pet may be accommodated, and the cottage is strictly non-smoking.

At the rear of the cottage, you'll find a charming, well-maintained garden that's safe for both children and pets to enjoy, with no access to the roads. There’s also a covered fish pond and a patio seating area.

Downstairs in the cottage, the living room features a brick fireplace with electric heating, an open-beamed ceiling, and a comfortable seating area. It is equipped with an HD Freeview TV, DVD player, and CD/radio. The breakfast kitchen, with its charming open-beamed ceiling and pine units, includes a microwave, electric cooker, fridge, freezer, and is fully stocked with all necessary crockery, cutlery, and glassware. Off the kitchen is a utility porch with laundry facilities and a stable-style split rear door that opens onto the garden.

To the right of the kitchen is the bathroom, which includes an electric instant shower, hand basin, toilet, and an electric heater. To the left of the kitchen, an open-plan staircase leads to the first floor. Bedroom 1 offers a King-size bed, while Bedroom 2 features a guest-style single bed that can be easily converted into either two single beds or one double bed. This room also offers pleasant views over the rear garden and beyond.

The cottage does not have private parking, but there is ample on-street parking available. It is also fully equipped with all bedding, towels, and other linens. For outdoor use, there is a barbecue, garden furniture, and bicycles stored in the garden shed.
